About the Ottawa Paw Pantry
Founded in 2016, the Ottawa Paw Pantry is a 100% volunteer-run pet food resource established to help prevent the abandonment or surrender of animals when their families cannot afford to feed them. As an organization, we provide temporary food assistance to qualifying low-income owners who are currently unable to afford food for their pets and may be forced to give up their pets without such assistance.

The Ottawa Paw Pantry is a registered charity. We hope to expand our reach to help more families and pets stay together. As such, we are looking for individuals ready to participate in the advancement of our mission. Candidates should have an understanding of animal welfare, and an appreciation for how the relationship between pets and families supports positive mental health. Moreover, candidates must exercise a social justice-oriented lens and have an understanding of the social determinants of poverty and health.
