Do you like staying organized and animals, too? Does the idea of grocery shopping make you giddy? If so, this role may be for you.

The Ottawa Paw Pantry is looking for a dedicated Sort Coordinator volunteer to join the Client Relations team.

Working closely with the Client Relations Manager and the Driver Coordinator, this volunteer will be responsible for portioning client deliveries based on their needs.

While we expect the role to be about 5-8 hours monthly, it may occasionally happen that a few more hours are needed.

– Work with the Client Relations Manager to gather the information needed to prepare packages
– Pull items from the shelf at our storage unit to assemble pet food packages for clients based on their current requirements
– Work with the Driver Coordinator in a timely fashion to notify them that the packages are ready for delivery
– Notify the Client Relations Manager when specific types of food are low to allow for reordering
– Work with the Client Relations Manager to provide food order details
– Take ownership of arising problems and follow issues through to resolution
– Uphold a high standard of respect for clients and other volunteers

– Ability to lift bags up to 40 lbs
– A compassionate and judgment-free perspective towards poverty, income inequality, and their contributing factors
– A willingness to engage through email and over the phone with marginalized and/or vulnerable members of the Ottawa community
– Clear understanding of privacy and ability to maintain client confidentiality at all times

Please note, volunteers in this role do not have direct contact with animals.

How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
Connect with the community and know that you are having a positive impact in getting their pet food, and in turn, allowing their pet to stay at home with them.
