Piano teacher for individuals living in Supportive Housing

Short term (less than 6 months)
Application Deadline: June 16, 2023

Options Bytown is searching for a dedicated individual to volunteer their time to teach piano to tenants of our Supportive Housing program. A number of our tenants have expressed interest in learning to play the piano and while we have one on site, we do not have the skills to teach it! This volunteer commitment is flexible in schedule and hours and while we’re not looking for an expert, we are searching for someone who is patient and understands that everyone learns at different speeds.

How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
This opportunity could be applied to student volunteer hours, community volunteers hours, or simply allow someone who is passionate about music to share their knowledge with individuals who may not otherwise have the opportunity.
How will the organization benefit?
Options Bytown will benefit from this volunteer opportunity by being able to provide opportunities to tenants that go beyond basic necessities. Music and social interactions can be incredibly beneficial and as many people call Options Bytown their permanent home, we would love nothing more than to be able to connect tenants to their interests.
