The volunteer applicant for this position MUST have experience facilitating guided meditation sessions and be clear in their speech as the volunteer role takes place via telephone.

Volunteers will guide members/clients via telephone in a guided meditation session via teleconferencing as part of our Seniors without Walls program.

Volunteers must
*Be available for 10 consecutive weeks to run a program between 9am-3pm on the same day/time each week for a 45 minute time slot (30 minute session, 15 minutes set up and ending).
*Have a telephone that they can guarantee weekly use of from their own home in a quiet setting
*Comfortable with interacting with individuals via telephone

How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
The volunteer will be able to support a program from the comfort of their own home. They will gain experience supporting older adults who are not able to attend an in person program to practice mindfulness and meditation.
How will the organization benefit?
Through volunteer support we will be able to meet the needs/wants of our members/clients who benefit from virtual/ telephone programs. As not all older adults are able to independently leave their home due to transportation and mobility challenges it provides our members/clients the opportunity to engage with ours and feel part of the community.
Volunteer location:
Our location is 77 Monk st, however for this role the volunteer will support from the comfort of their own home. Volunteers will have to attend an interview session and potential training session at The Glebe Centre
