Gender and Social Inclusion Advisor - Volunteer in Cameroon (French)
Location: Yaoundé, Cameroon

Role of the volunteer
As a Gender and Social Inclusion Advisor, the volunteer will have to develop with our local team a gender strategy for the Cameroon Country Office and the implementation of gender monitoring and evaluation tools.
He/She will also be called upon to work on an ad hoc basis with our partners and the other volunteers in order to guarantee the integration of the gender aspect in their respective activities.
He/she will also be responsible for organizing awareness sessions against the phenomenon of early marriage for young learners of the Centers for the Advancement of Women and the Family (CPFF), training structures run by the MINPROFF.
The volunteer will have to carry out the following activities:
Develop gender strategy for PB
Put in place gender monitoring and evaluation tools for PB activities
Awareness sessions against the phenomenon of early marriage
Support partners in gender mainstreaming during the planning and implementation of their activities

Project – SHARE (sharing Canadian know-how for inclusive development and gender equality)
Cuso International will carry out the SHARE project (sharing Canadian know-how for inclusive development and gender equality), with the contribution of Global Affairs Canada (GAC) over a period of seven years. SHARE aims to improve the economic and social well-being of the poorest, most marginalized and most vulnerable people, especially women and girls in developing countries, with the mission to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs ). In addition to strengthening Canadians’ engagement with international development and key global issues, this project will seek to improve the performance of country partners to promote innovative initiatives and more inclusive sustainable environmental development that will advance
Terms and Conditions
Cuso International terms and conditions allow you to lead a modest and healthy lifestyle while being effective in your placement. This support package will cover basic living expenses for one volunteer and is not intended to cover home-based expenses (ex. loans, support payments, etc.) or luxury items such as imported items in placement or international personal travel.

Bonus: Additional return flight home or cash in lieu after 12 months of service for volunteers who extend for another 6 months

Provide two Professional References and one Personal Reference
Complete an oral assessment during your preliminary telephone interview in the language required for your placement
Obtain a Police Check at our request
Complete a full medical exam and be medically cleared by the Cuso International Medical Advisor prior to your departure

We ask each volunteer, regardless of placement length, to raise $2,000. All volunteers receive support from Cuso International to help achieve the goal through fundraising. If the volunteer chooses not to fundraise or is unable to achieve the fundraising goal, he/she can make a one-time donation or become a monthly donor to support our work.
