Dalhousie Food Cupboard is looking for someone to join our Communications committee (volunteers and board) to help us build community and drive awareness of our services.

How will the organization benefit?
In an effort to reach a diverse audience – including those without access to social media – we leverage multiple channels to connect with our clients and partners. In this role, the Communications Volunteer will work with a team to: Create and schedule engaging text, photo and video content for our marketing scheduling calendar and social media accounts Write, style, and deploy written content for the DFC’s monthly newsletter Draft updates and announcements to be shared with our client and community base Participate in monthly Communications Committee meetings What we’re looking for: Demonstrated experience with content writing and editing Expertise using various social media platforms and tools (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, Later) An interest in current marketing trends, target audiences, and media platform features The ability to commit to approximately 5 hours per month, including attending one virtual committee meeting The ability to successfully complete a police record check
Volunteer location:
Much of the volunteer work will be done virtually, but there may be a few in-person meetings throughout the year. Our office is located in the Bronson Centre at 211 Bronson Avenue Ottawa ON K1R 6H5
