How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
This is a great way to gain valuable experience in dealing with the general public. Great for high school and international students wishing to gain more volunteer hours and experience - all while being outside and having fun at the same time. A nice way to dip your foot in the volunteer pool for the first time, as you can simply sign up for one 4-hours shift to see how you like it! A chance to hone your skills in a fast paced, ever evolving environment. A chance to show off our amazing city to people from all across the globe!
How will the organization benefit?
Each volunteer helps us to produce a Canadian legacy festival that is in its 71st year. As a not-for-profit charity, we are mainly volunteer-run so we can't do this without all the amazing volunteers! We also are able to create a valuable database of qualified, competent help to pull from each year.
